Wipe wall down with diluted white cleaning vinegar or use Odo-Ban. Add Borax to your laundry.
Use PineSol with a little water.
You can use Oxyclean in your laundry, then add some vinegar to the rinse water. This may take out some nicotine stains.
Nicotine is a challenge to get off the walls. For best results you will have to repaint the walls.
I’ve tried everything on the ceiling. I figured I would need to paint.
Boy I do feel your pain! Nothing is as disgusting as moving into a house or apartment and confront that smoker filth!! PURPLE POWER is a cleaner sold at auto parts stores. Very reasonable price and environmentally safe. Launder all clothing that can be washed in a washing machine with 1/2 cup poured in with detergent. Will not fade fabrics and leaves no odor behind. Add it to water to wash walls/ceilings/floors/windows/woodwork. If the furniture has been exposed to smoking, wipe it down if the fabric is washable. I buy used furniture and spruce it up and sell for a profit because it has no odors. Works inside cars too; on the head liner and all surfaces. I hope you try this and have the best satisfaction.

For the walls I would prime with a strong product like Kilz and repaint. It's really the only foolproof way to remove the issue.
