How do you bring the shine back to brass door knobs?
both outside door handles are brass and really look gross. Out deck door gets a lot of wear but still has this rough feel to finish and is dull. Do we have to replace?

How do I bring back the shine to my metal roof?
We have a nineteen year old metal roof; dark green, but it has lost its shine and the snow won't slide off. we need some ideas on how to "fix" it
Try using car wax or rubbing compound if not probably have to replace..if u do remember to put wax on it once month
A brass cleaner like Brasso can remove grime and oxidation. I would us a spray varnish to coat the knobs after cleaning This will keep it clean and prevent oxidation. Another option is to spay paint the hardware.
I've had a lot of success cleaning brass with boiled vinegar and 0000 steel wool. :) I'd wear gloves if you're not able to remove the door knobs.

Remove handles and soak in cola overnight, then polish up ready to refit on doors.
Hi Martha, my Mom always used ketchup (tomato sauce) to clean her brass ornaments. Squirt some on a clean cloth and rub all over and then wipe off with a clean cloth and buff.
