How can I remove rust stain in my toilet bowl?
We had a friend of my husbands offer to repair the cistern, whatever he used has now trickled down inside the bowl, I have tried: bleach, bicarb, meths, all to no avail, could anyone advise please?

1 liter of Coke or Diet Coke. Pour in and let sit for a few hours before scrubbing.
Have you tried CLR? I had some kind of gross black buildup under the rim on the inside of a toilet in a rental. I don't know what it is as I'd never seen it before. I tried all the usual cleaning methods, bleach, vinegar, elbow grease, but nothing worked. Then one day I decided to try CLR. I used the scrubbing bubbles brush and poured the CLR on it and then scrubbed as hard as I could without breaking the brush. It took a couple tries, but I got it off.
It is a calcium, lime and rust remover. I'm in the US so I can buy it at any store that sells cleaning supplies, ie. home depot, lowes, walmart.
