How do I cover black spots in a mirror?
I have a beautiful medicine cabinet in the bathroom but black spots have set in around the outside edges. I've tried putting 1/2" pin stripping for cars in the shinny silver color around the outside edges of the mirror and it looked nice but it's not holding up. My question is..... does anyone know if I etched the outsides of the mirror about 1/2" all the way around would the etching be opaque enough to cover up the black spots or would they still continue to show through.

You could glue some fake silver leaf a border all around. Tape off what you don't want leafed with blue painters tape. You could also use craft paint to to paint a border.
I thought about painting a border around the mirror. That might be the easiest solution. Beings I'm 79 years old and not able to do the things I used too whatever I choose has to be fairly easy. I am a long time tole painter and have 125 different colors of paint so that won't be a problem, and easy to touch up if it chips etc. Thanks William for your suggestions. Greatly appreciated.
