Hi Beverly, I have always used the works toilet bowl cleaner and have always been able to get any stain out. Don't buy the one that says basic because it is a cheap version and doesn't do anything. I found that out when I accidentally bought the basic.
Vinegar, baking powder, let it sit, then scrub. Repeat! Recently, we ended up with a case of canned Sprite after a get together. Now I am using a can a week of Sprite in each toilet. I barely have to clean more on the weekends.
Hi Beverly. To clean a stained toilet bowl, try soaking a pumice stone in water for 10 - 15 minutes and then scrubbing the stains with it. You can also try scouring away the stains with a drier sheet. For mold or mildew stains, apply white vinegar or bleach and then scrub the stains with a toilet brush.
The Only thing that worked for me was a scour stick (pumice) that I bought at Home Depot. Our toilets were so bad when we moved in I was ready to replace them... thankfully that stick did the trick!
Here's what I did for the bottom of the bowl stain that we had in our toilet: I emptied the toilet bowl of water by turning off the water valve and plunging the remaining water out. Then I put in swimming pool (muriatic) acid and let it soak for a few hours. No scrubbing. If you do this, be careful NOT to breathe the acid and keep the room ventilated. It was convenient for me because I already had the acid for my pool. I've also successfully used pumice stone for the hard water deposits under toilet rim. Good luck!
I have water through a well and get the ring around the water line in toilet. On a whim, I took Oxy Clean Powder and sprinkled it just above the ring. Waited an hour, then scrubbed the toilet and stain/mineral deposit was gone
