What part of the chain was affected? Could the cover be removed if a cushion?

If this was on the arm or back of chair, blot up as much of it as you can. Use old absorbant towels, but on the bloodied areas try NOT to use any water or soap on the area. Water and soap will will rupture the red blood cells causing it to stain the fabric. You can use saline solution, like for contact lense storage. It is similar to the liquid in your blood and will help you wash out the blood. Once the majority has been removed you can use any cleaner to remove any lingering smells. After that to remove excess mousture, grab some more towels, fold it up into a big pad and press over the wet areas to draw up the moisture.

    Hope that helps.
