Do look up Chalk paint finishes to upholstery- it might be the answer..........
You can get fabric paint at Micheals. They even have spray fabric paint. But what I would do is buy ANY COLOR latex paint and add a fabric medium into it. Try liquitex fabric medium or ceramcoat textile medium. Just google these 2 products and follow the directions on the bottle to mix with paint. I haven't done this yet so I don't have one of my own posts for you but I have thought about doing it myself and I would use these products. I love being able to use my own color especially when it comes to home decor. I think you do need a few good coats. good luck!
Yes you can, however if you use acrylic or latex paint you have to sand it between coats..... a real pain. But I have a friend who painted a leather ottoman with a paint called Refunk Junk and it worked out great, soft and no sanding required. She orders it on line and comes in different colors.
