Our bathroom mat has somehow left a yellowish discoloration on the linoleum. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove the discoloration?

Hello Allie! This article suggests using bleach and scouring powder with bleach in it. https://homeguides.sfgate.com/remove-yellowing-linoleum-27065.html
The latex in the rug backing has had a chemical reaction with the vinyl floor. This is a common occurrence anymore. Sorry to say, but once it is discolored, there is no amount of scrubbing that can bring it back. Bleach might even damage the surface of the linoleum, not to mention your lungs.
I am wondering if painting it might work as well?
Worse case scenario, it is a relatively small bathroom and replacing the flooring shouldn't be too expensive. :)
Thank you all, for sharing your thoughts on the subject.
