When I have a shepherd hook that starts leaning over from the weight of the plant, I put in the green garden stakes that you can attach fencing to and put the upright into the U so that it means on the sturdy stake and keeps it upright. I have two or three that do tend to lean when I hang a flower on them, I don't think the parts of the shepherd hooks that you sink in the ground are enough for much more than small hanging pots. I even have a double one that with the same size pots on it, still likes to lean to the right, but the stake is holding it up real well.

then when you hang the pot, it will straighten up.
The hook part of the crook is on the upside of the \. The weight of the pot will bring the crook straight up - maybe not immediately, but with in a day or two.
