How do I get the backing from a vinyl table cloth off wood?
I put a vinyl table cloth under a regular table cloth and when I removed the vinyl one it left part of the backing embedded in every crevice on the surface.

I would spray on Murphy's Oil Soap enough to saturate the area and use a soft cloth to wipe it off. For the backing embedded in the crevices, use a toothbrush!
I would use extremely fine grit sand paper. Lightly sand off the debris without taking down the finish.
