How do I paint the tile on my oak dining table?
Has anyone painted an oak dining table with tile on top. I would like to paint the whole top black and leave pedestal the oak to match chairs?
Get a faux marble painting kit. Hopefully your wood grain doesn't show through or the effect will be bad. You may need a wood pore filler and a primer before adding the faux paint.
You can use a two part epoxy to make it look like marble! :) Here are countertops I did to make look like faux marble. I did this over laminate. The same technique will work for wood. Check out http://stonecoatcountertops.com youtube videos!

You can use any inexpensive acrylic paint you wish. The key items to have to make it look like real marble is a feather and sponge. I did my daughter's entire bedroom wall in pink marble (dark peach/brown/white veins).
You can buy marble contact paper.
Paint it light gray then go through it with place lines all over then go through it with darker gray lines
