You could technically paint it with some fabric paint. Check out my post https://karupp-did.net/a-boot-makeover-shop-your-attic/. I know this post was a boot makeover but I talk all about painting the faux pleather. If I were to paint a pleather or leather trunk, I would do it similarly. Hope it helps! In the post though I polished the shoes afterwards, so I would be cautious of that if you wanted to sit on the trunk so to not stain your clothes but it might be interesting to check out some finishing waxes or polish if you don't care. But my post gives some helpful information on painting pleather if that is something you might be interested doing. If you don't like the fabric paints they have available as an acceptable color for a trunk, what I would do is buy ANY COLOR latex paint and add a fabric medium into it. Try liquitex fabric medium or ceramcoat textile medium. Just google these 2 products and follow the directions on the bottle to mix with paint. I haven't used these 2 fabric mediums yet so I don't have one of my own posts for you but I have thought about doing it myself and I would use these products. I love being able to use my own color especially when it comes to home decor. good luck!

If the trunk is real leather, there is a paint called Cova Color made specifically for leather.
