Do I need to replace the float in my toilet?
One of my toilets continues to run, ever so slightly, even after the tank is filled. The seal is in good shape. Do I need to replace the float?

I need to know how to replace the guts in the toilet tank.
I hear it is an easy job, but I have no idea how. I had to call a plumber and he charged me $140.00 and a few months later it came apart
To test the float: Gently lift the rod to see if that stops the leak. If so gently bend the rod DOWN to allow the float to shut off the water sooner at the valve
Sometimes if you bend the metal part the float is attached to (in a downward motion) this will allow the float to close off the water coming into the tank. If that doesn't work then I would suggest that you replace the metal part that connects to the float . This part has the rubber seal that fits over the hole where water goes down for flughing the toilet. The part doesn't cost much. Good luck.
Not the float. You need to replace the flapper. First check the chain from the flush handle to the flapper. There should be about 3 to 4 loose links when the flapper is down. If there are then you need to replace the flapper. Also make sure the the water level in the tank is 1" below the overflow tube.
William has best answered the problem, I believe. Tat is what I would do as well. Good advice, by all though.
