Ew I hate this problem. My husband is a plumber but I still get stuck with it sometimes. We have the kind of plunger that has a long extension that runs a few inches down the pipe. After that I completely disinfect entire bathroom. If not, my husband has some little "portable snake" he calls it. It's unwound to extend a long flexible arm down the pipe, then wound back up once it's gone as far as possible. Hopefully the first try works, and you dont "catch" anything, but the big idea is to clear it. If you called a plumber, he would use a snake, and it doesn't take any magic skills to operate it, so why spend the money?
I've found certain people are more likely to stop it up. Train them to flush Midway.
There are several types of toilet snakes that you can purchase from the home improvement stores. They all do the same basic thing, run down into the drain of the toilet and then turn to release the clog. There are also some toilet clog cleaners that you can buy. I have tried both and either works but the snake only has to be purchased once while you have to repurchase the cleaner. As for stopping the clog in the first place? Keep track of how your toilet is flushing, is it slow? Plunge it. Make sure people aren't putting things down it that shouldn't be flushed. No tampons, toys, hair clips, etc. This won't stop all clogs but it will help.
Scoop out as much of the water as you can in the toilet put in a half a box of baking soda then pull up white vinegar down after it about a cup let it sit for 20 minutes and then pour boiling hot water down I have to wait and then flush
Yes, buy a DIY snake that you can chuck into your cordless drill.
