Why do my closet shutter turn yellow?
Old closet shutters stained, glossy. Repainted white acrylic. Kilz also used. Liquid sand to prepare...3 coats of paint and each day we have to wipe off a yellow that bleeds thru? What is it? Probably 60' shutters...maybe shellac or varnish below. Paint adhered excellant though??!! Thank you

Sometimes liquid sand isn't enough to remove the finish below, Sadly you will probably need to take it off and sand the old fashioned way. Curious if you used Kilz 2 or Kilz Original. Less likely bleed through with Original.
If it wipes off, that's just weird. I'd take one to a stand alone paint store with the yellow still on It and see what they would recommend.
Liquid deglosser is a good choice instead of sanding under certain conditions. You used Kilz primer then white acrylic paint. The shutters were old. Should not have taken three coats of paint with primer. I assume the stain is what is bleeding through the Kilz and paint. The deglosser not only removed the shine but also reacted with the stain. What you should have used was a shellac based sealer or primer like Zinsser BIN or Bullseye Seal Coat. With three coats of paint you may need to sand off as much as you can, then use either Zinsser BIN or Bullseye Seal Coat, then repaint.
