Hi Val, I use rice to keep my salt from clumping and it should work to take the moisture out of the detergent. Fill a sock with rice and put it in the detergent in an airtight container and let it sit for a couple of days.
Put it a plastic bag and drop it on a cement floor a few times. Then get a box of zip lock bags, measure out what You normally would use in to the ziplock bag, and get the air out of the bag. Save the bags to reuse.
Once in smaller chunks, sit on top of the dryer as it runs.
