Use shampoo for the hairspray build-up and vinegar for the mildew, Cheryl.
Mix baking soda in your hand with your shampoo. About a tablespoon of baking soda mixed into a paste with your shampoo.

Baking soda will strip the hair spray build up from your hair. Just wash with it in your shampoo like you would regularly, about a tablespoon is all it takes. For shower mildew, you can try scrubbing with vinegar. If that doesn't work, try bleach.
If the hairspray is on surfaces, like the mirror or curling iron, I use rubbing alcohol. For hair I use baking soda and for mildew I use vinegar. What are the problem areas?
Hi Cheryl, this will help with hairspray buildup and the mildew, vinegar is a great cleaner
To clean hairspray overspray off of vinyl flooring, and countertops mop with a strong vinegar and water solution. You can add a small amount of mild dish soap if you wish. For a really heavy buildup, pour a little rubbing alcohol right on the floor, working in small patches at a time and wiping up as the hairspray is dissolved.
