How to Seal Coat a Driveway
If your driveway is in good condition and only requires a topping then you can do it yourself. There are some excellent asphalt coverings on the market so do not go cheap or you will have to redo it is sooner than necessary.. Wash it really well and remove any oil spots with an oil remover. Be sure it is clean and free of dirt. You will need old shoes, a good roller with a long handle, plastic tray and the correct amount of resurfacer when you start. You might need a brush to go along the edges of a building or wall. Do this when the sun is not out or it will dry too quick and you will see the join marks. Block it off for the desired drying time so no one walks or drives on it. The best time to do this is when it is cooler in the evening or after 4 p.m. It should be at least 60 degrees so that the liquid flows nicely.
