I don't know. I assume mixing paint in drywall compound would thin down the compound and make the paint wouldn't mix evenly. A colorant can be added to drywall compound similar to tinting paint. Most just apply the drywall compound first and paint when it dries.

You would need a concentrate the compound will change the color it will tone it down see if Home Depot will mix it for you or get a drill and mix your self
Just note usually texture walls and ceilings decrease your property value. Usually done more to hide bad areas that have not been maintained. once painted and you get tired of the look you are stuck with it. That's why new well made houses are all finished smooth.
