How do I remove dark streaks on my roof?

5 yrs ago we replaced our roof. We now are beginning to get dark streaks in various areas of our roof. What causes this and how do we go about removing it or do we have to hire someone to remove it? What is the procedure and is it expensive?

  • It doesn't harm your roof, but it sounds like it's an algae called Gloeocapsa Magma.
