Will wear quickly, scratch and peel.
Are we talking ceramic tile or just tile. With an underlay you could do wood vinyl plank . The peel and stick is only 97 cents a sq ft if youre on a budget but you cant use it over ceramic tile. Neither would raise the level of your floor that much. Also theyre not hard to install.

I agree with Phaedra. Not worth the time or effort for something that may not look good or last. Better off just going over with peel and stick vinyl planks.
