Hi Ann, I first sprinkle about a 1/2 cup of baking soda into the drain, add a cup of vinegar, let sit for 20-30 minutes, then pour a tea kettle full of boiling water. If that doesn't help, here's some more ideas... https://sansone-ac.com/how-to-unclog-a-bathtub-drain/
It’s probably hair in there & I would use one of those plastic hair catcher “sticks” and try to pull out the hair.
There are hair-eating forms of Drano, but they’re caustic & I’d try to get the hair out mechanically.
Thanks

I'd buy a hair catcher to go over the drain in the future. I had an old apartment drain that would always get clogged from my hair!
Do not use a plunger, it will just push the hair and collected gunk around it further down the drain where it will get compacted. Use the tool, I think it is called a zip it, it is really cheap and lasts a long time. It is a long thin piece of plastic with barbs on the two sides. It grabs the hair and lets you pull it out by putting it down the drain as far as you can get it. Once you get out as much as you can, then use the hack Janice gave you the directions for with baking soda, vinegar and followed with a rinse of boiling water. That should get your drain unclogged. I have tried the drain cleaners that are supposed to eat the hair and have never had luck with them at all, but the tool, baking soda, vinegar and boiling water it has done the job every time.
We've used this tool to clear the hair out of the drain and that usually does it. https://www.homedepot.com/p/HDX-20-in-Hair-Snake-90830/324601746
Then we pour vinegar and hot water down the drain.
Try one of those thin plastic hair grabbers first which should take care of a good portion of the issue. Then sprinkle baking soda down the drain, pour in some vinegar, let it sit for a bit, then rinse with hot water.
If none of the above work, you may need something stronger. I have used the drain cleaner from the dollar store, it works very well. Follow directions on the bottle.
Hi Annieb: Get all of the water out of the tub, even use a turkey baster if you have one, to get the water out of the drain. Then, get a 1/2 box of baking soda and pour it down the drain. Then, pour about a cup of vinegar and then, really quickly, use a cloth to stop up the drain AND the over flow opening, which shouldl be where the toggle for opening and closing the drain is. Hold this for a few minutes as it will fuzz up like mad. Then, when the fuzzing stops, pour a lot of hot water down the drain. DON'T DO THIS IF YOU HAVE USED ANYTHING LIKE DRAINO AS IT CAN FUZZ UP INTO YOUR FACE AND CAUSE PROBLEMS.
