How can I add a wooden shelf to a metal work table?
I bought a sturdy metal table at the Habitat ReStore for $28. I intend to use it as a work bench. I would like to add wheels and a shelf below for storage. How do I add those things to metal legs?

Sharon,
You will need to be able to drill holes in the legs for the shelf. One way to do it is to bolt angle iron (can be bought at Lowe's or HD) between the legs and use that to support the shelf. Another way is to bolt a heavy duty joist hanger to each leg and use 2x4's set in the joist hangers to support the shelf. Here is one way to do the wheels:

Hi Sharon!
That sounds like a great idea. Here are some videos that might give you some ideas.

You need to get drill bits made for the metal of the legs, they are available anywhere, even Walmart. Make sure you get casters for the weight of the table and the possible weight of the projects you will be doing. Don't get the all plastic ones, they don't hold up to any weight at all, even if they state they are made for heavy weight, the wheels are just two pieces of plastic put together and they come apart easily. Get the casters that have the metal with rubber of silicone wheels, they are worth the money, this is from experience and trying to move plants that aren't even half the weight limit stated on the rolling stands.
