How do I clean brass?
I have an old miners lamp made of brass and no matter what I use I cannot get to shine. Please help? Thanks

Brasso - works wonders when used with some elbow grease.
It could be a dull brass and won't shine. Some brass comes with a coating that makes it shine but it gets worn off over time. Here are a couple of options that might work:
ketchup, tomato sauce, or tomato paste rubbed onto in a thin coat, sit an hour, then clean with hot soapy water
Paste of salt, flour, & white vinegar in equal parts. Rub on a thin coat, sit an hour, then clean with hot soapy water.
Get brasso cream cleaner that will do it
