Oils in a water-based cleaning need, are going to make your efforts tougher.
If the big issue is odor, then I would also concentrate on cleaning the floor around the toilet, several times, with drying with a white rag in between.
The rag will tell you how much more you need to work at it.
If the flooring was not put underneath the bottom lip of the toilet, but is rather a seam all around it, then you have to get cleanser inside that scene was something like a Q-tip.
Back to cleaners, I would use something like lime away from the dollar store because it gets rid of the ring around the water line, and you can brush it up underneath the inside lip of the bowl.
Although it smells strong, you should let it sit on there for at least an hour, with the fan running the whole time. Then scrub it some more with the brush and then flush it and see what you have left to do.
I have three bathrooms and I can make a bottle of lime away last about three months. Not bad for one dollar
