Hi, here's a great article that explains the pros and cons of different metallic spray paints - https://www.anikasdiylife.com/best-silver-spray-paint/ I'm sure you'll find loads of useful information so you can make the right choice
yes, and lots of great new spray paints, some with primers built in, some which will even convert rust (with a little sanding), but PLEASE use any of these with really adequate ventilation. That doesn't mean apartment air conditioning --but major opening of windows wearing a proper mask OR do the spraying outdoors somewhere you can hopefully prevent small bugs from sticking to the paint. Be careful of the flammability as well. Good preparation is half the battle. There are 'hammered' spray paints as well which might look perfect for your bed frame.
Rustolium
There are two I like using, one is the new Rustoleum Hammered Silver paint in spray can or quart can. The second I've used for years, is Aluminum paint for a bit of a duller, silver look from Rustoleum in the quart can. I get both at True Value Hardware store, but most home stores will have both. I like to use some 0000 steel wool on the piece first to slightly give some tooth to hold the paint.
Rustolium for sure! It sticks to anything and comes in great metallic colors! We recently used the satin bronze for this project
