What should I use to paint a rusted bed frame? My rusted old steel bed frame has no paint on it. What is the easiest way to revamp it? What paint should I use?

I would sand any loose rust off if any and spray it with any good spray paint for metal, Rustoleum or Krylon. It looks in good shape so this should be an easy quick job.

Rub the metal down first with mineral spirits to aid in the removal of the rust. Sand, then use a primer for metal, allow to dry and use a spray paint for metal.

If that was my piece I would use it as a coffee table. Sand lightly leaving most of the rust and chalk paint in a light color distressing it heavily. Use a piece of glass for the top!?

First of all brush it vigorously with a wire brush to get the loose rust off...you can use a brush made for a drill for this too to make the job faster and easier. Then if used inside, just paint whatever color you want using Rustoleum pain. If to be used outside, spray with a Rustoleum rust protection spray.

Believe it or not but Coca Cola is terrific for loosening and removing rust. (That's why I don't drink it!). Get 2 litre or quart bottle and pour some in a spray bottle or pour in pail. Use wire brush to scrub away rust. Works like a charm. Rinse piece with water. Let dry. My favourite outdoor paint for metal is Tremclad or Rustoleum.

I paint all my outdoor stuff (lawn chairs, tables, railings) a rust color, then I don't worry about it.
