Rustoleum brand. Can be mixed to just about any color, affordable and top coat is great.
It's a matter of preference. I like Annie Sloan products. Fairly expensive in comparison to other brands but I feel this paint covers the best, is easy to distress and looks wonderful with the Annie Sloan wax over it. I save this brand for big projects and use less expensive brands for smaller things like picture frames, wooden boxes, etc.
I favor the Rustoleum products, their products and support are fabulous. Perhaps it might be available in a color —that you like?

Annie Sloan is probably the best. But it's all about preference. I hate rustoleum and will never use it again (way too thick) but I like the valspar brand just fine.
