You could use a tree stump, something that bespeaks the part of the country you live in. For instance in Maine you could use a lobster trap. See the little white stand to the right? That is the base for a bassinet I found at our town swap shop. I returned it as I really had no room on my porch. Look at the salvation army or Goodwill for unusual things.
Stack slices of round wood glue them then sand the top one
A large planter is one way natural or painted, in terra cotta, galvanized wash basin you can just flip over, other largish containers like a pretty ,or simple trash bin, again flip over if it’s smooth your good to go, if not set a tray and get a strong glue to set it. Even baskets. Home Depot. And Lowe’s have wood table top disks, and legs. The containers can also be used as storage. Also you can make pretty sturdy ones with concrete blocks.
Hi Peggy, this idea is a great one, I love the forest and wood products!

I just did this stenciled table. If you have an old one you could make it over. https://jessicawellinginteriors.com/stencils-for-painting-an-easy-patio-table-makeover/
