Laminate flooring pieces are manufactured so that they click into each other on a horizontal surface. As they are not intended to be mounted vertically, if your wall is not level, it may be difficult to get the pieces to stay adhered to the wall without popping or cracking.

Yes. The key to success is to caulk around all the edges. Make you use a water
proof caulk. If you have to, mask around the edges where you don't want caulk.
