Hi, Kaye!
It's going to depend on where the leak is coming from but it sounds as if the faucet will need to be replaced. Turn off the water at the main, then remove the faucet. Use teflon tape around the threads on the pipe, then install a new one. Here's an article that explains how to replace the faucet in detail. I hope this helps!

It could just be the rubber washer where it seats in the valve. Less than $1 to fix. However, you need to turn off the main water supply and drain it out the faucet. Open another house faucet preferably higher elevation to drain. Valves normally have a packing nut that unscrews so the stem can be removed. Replace the seat and re-install.
Hi,
It is best to replace the faucet with new. Turn off water supply first.
Unscrew the old install the new, easy.
If it is solder on, get a PRO. Or a friend that knows what and how do it.
