They make special clips for mirrors.
Heavy mirrors are best hung with a French Cleat based on the weight of the mirror.... one side of the cleat is mounted to the top of the mirror's frame, then the other side is mounted to wall hopefully onto the studs, or you will have to use anchors for the screws.

Yes, go with the French Cleats as Sharon said.
The wall mounted little clear plastic 'mirror' clips are good only for lightweight frameless mirrors.
