How do I dust interior logs in a log home?
i live in a log home built in 1977 . We use Murphy’s oil soap on interior logs and it works well. I do get discouraged when dusting the logs and I’ve never been able to solve this problem. Instead of using vacuum all the time , sometimes I like to dust the logs by just wiping them down. I get discouraged because when I use cloths the threads get stuckin the splintered logs and tear away from cloth and same with sponges. The sponges end up ripping up and tiny pieces of sponge gets stuckin logs . Any advice ?? Thank you !

Use a dust pan brush
Debbie, have you tried using a broom? A whisk broom or a regular long handle broom will work.
You might try a feather duster for light dusting jobs between washings. Swiffer makes some light weight dusters too but don't know how well they would work on a splintered surface.
Try using a "fox tail" brush to wipe off the dust.
Wow! A “fox tail”
brush. Never heard of that. I will def be heading to the hardware store to ask about it. Thanks sooo much !
Ive used the telescoping swiffer or a lambswool stick duster on my log walls, my log walls have a sealer, they might be smoother than yours?
