Real sea shells? I don’t know how they’d be to clean up after they’ve been splashed repeatedly?
I hope someone finds that post- I’d like to see it.
Agree with Lifestyle's comment that a backsplash made from shells would be very impractical especially in a kitchen. The rough surface and multiple indentations would attract food particles and grease and would be very difficult to keep clean and sanitized.
I too am concerned that a sea shell backsplash wouldn't hold up. Shells could crack and they'd be very tough to clean. Unless this is in an area of very minimal use, then it probably would be fine.
