It needs to run continuously to keep water from flooding area..just unplug but will regret
Unless there’s water to continuously pump, then I would look for a re-set button or an indicator light for a Fault mode. If not, unplug it for 3 minutes & then plug it in again.
You might be able to adjust the float. It tells the pump when to come on. If you set the float higher, then the bucket will fill up before the pump comes on. If it is set low in the bucket the pump will run more often.
