How do I paint furniture with a paint sprayer?

I've been looking online on how to paint furniture (in this case a chair) with a paint sprayer and have only found a few articles Need some help. any tips/ advice?

If it's just a single chair, it would probably be easier to just use a can or two of spray paint.
I have painted single chairs with spray paint - please be more patient than myself! thin layers gradually built up avoid drip runs in the paint.
If you decide to use cans, definitely go the extra step and use a spray can holder. Two examples of different brands available are shown below.
