Never understood the need to use it to clean a toilet but, according to other posts on using WD-40, you just spray it into the toilet and scrub. But if you have a septic tank system, do not use WD-40. Petroleum distillates do not degrade so it is only a matter of time before that squirt of WD-40 finds its way into the drinking water supply.

Don’t use WD-40...use bleach. It does a better job and it’s a lot cheaper.

Many newer toilets have warranties which will be voided if you use bleach.

Pour a small amount of 20 Mule Team Borax in the bowl. Swish with toilet brush and let set 1 hour or longer. Flush and enjoy a clean toilet bowl!

The liquid in the WD-40 will help soften the gunk and lime. In such an easy way you can keep your toilet sanitary, stain-free and deodorized.

The key here is that you don't need to use much of it just to get rid of the dirt someone had made. Just spray it once or twice, wait for a minute or two, and then brush it away.

If you have tougher stains, you may want to use it two or three times more. However, when you successfully remove those nasty water stains, you can use WD-40 every two or three weeks.

This product is safe to use as it contains fish oil, so you can also keep using regular cleaner in between.

I thought CLR is the one that dissolves lime deposits. The water where I live is hard water and causes stains in the toilet . This seems to work well.
