How do I painting white kitchen cabinets?
I have white kitchen cabinets that came with the house-- 18 years ago -- I want to paint the exterior of them---I'm certain that they are manufactured and painted with oil based spray paint. Do I have to use oil base-- can I use Kiltz then Latex-- what about Latex with Kiltz included in the paint???

If they are in good condition you might be able to just wash them down with TSP and then paint with a quality latex paint without priming. You can apply latex paint over oil-based (not the other way around), as long as you prepare the surface properly first. You don't need Kilz in the pain unless there is a chance of mildew. If that's the case then you could use Zinzer Primer with Kilz first and then paint over after proper dry time.
If you can take them down and use a paint sprayer you will get a much cleaner look. My friend sprayed all of her cabinets with the HomeRight sprayer and they looked fantastic!
