How do I mix paint?
I am painting my kitchen. I painted the cabinets yellow and I have a lot of paint leftover. It's semi-gloss and looks beautiful! I want to paint the walls a lighter yellow. I'd like to use the left over semi-gloss, but I don't want shiny walls. Can I mix chalk paint with the semi-gloss to come up with what I'm looking for?

Maybe you could get a quart of flat paint to mix with the semi gloss. It should give you an eggshell finish. Chalk paint does need to have a topcoat over it to protect it from getting scratched-wax or poly. I doubt you want to wax or poly your walls!
I would get a quart or gallon of white semi-gloss, mix to the shade you like, then add 1/2c of baking soda to make your own chalk paint.... it will tone down the shine.
I would mix flat white paint. Chalk paint doesn't really hold up well in a kitchen setting IMHO.
Thank you everyone, for all the suggestions. I think I'll play it safe and buy a quart of white flat latex paint. Cross your fingers for me!
