Try placing some Bounce sheets in there and leave the lid closed for a while. I tried this in an old trunk which was outside in a shed and smelled musty and it worked.
Air it out, then close it up with activated charcoal, finally use some medium grit sand paper and sand the cedar on the inside to release some cedar scent.
V Smith's advice is great. The charcoal really works and sanding the cedar will reactivate the scent.
