How can I upcycle neck ties?

I have not made one in a long time, but some people use old quilts and fluffy bed covers and put two ties on them so they can be rolled into bags for the homeless and donated. Some people sew circles with the tiies then use them for quilt squares to save the ties.

"Daddy's Ties" by Shirley Botsford has lots of ideas. The book was written about 20 years ago, but you may be able to find it in used book section on Amazon.

I sew, and have used ties to make bias strips for finishing edges and for piping. Gives an extra-special finish at the seam between the lining and facing on coats & jackets.

I've seen throw pillows, placemats, and a table runner made from them.
