How can I conceal plaster wall cracks in a bathroom?

The house was built in 1954 and has plaster walls. Looking for an inexpensive way to conceal this crack. The crack is 24”. The wall is 5ft long by 45” tall, the rest is tile. Wondering if a plank wall would work for the rest of the wall.
You would smooth it over by adding more plaster and feathering it out, then painting. But you could also do a bead board or board & batten finish.
You can sand and spackle if you want to go with the original look of the wall.
You have options, also you can cover up after smoothing it out with contact paper or wall paper.
Another temporary idea is to hang a picture over it.
With a plaster wall you can't just fill it in. You would need to dig the crack out with either a razor knife or a putty knife. Then you can use a no shrink drywall patching compound to fill in the crack. Once dry preferably overnight. Use a damp sponge over the patch to smooth it out. Prime and touch up paint or repaint.
Sand and spackle would work but I would do board and batten, Home Depot has kits which are great. They have them in wood and PVC and very easy to install. Or you can shiplap the walls. Even a good vinyl wallpaper would cover the crack.
Fill the Crack in with 'Polyfiller' then Sand paper IT smooth. That way it can be painted or Wallpapered over.
