What type of stove top do you have? Gas? Induction? Ceramic?
  • This is the easiest way to clean stainless steel appliances. It's literally so easy, you will wonder if it's too good to be true, but it does work! Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly

Because gas stoves tend to cause burned on food, I like to keep up on any spills as they happen. For a deep clean, I remove the grates then take the little individual burner caps and soak them in warm soapy water. While those are soaking, I spray the drip area with a degreaser being careful to shield the gas ports from the degreaser. Let sit for several minutes. A nylon scrubby will help release any burn residue. Then wipe off all the cleaner and buff dry. Rinse the burner caps and allow to dry before replacing them.

Grandma, the ceramic electric stove is MUCH easier to clean than the gas stove. The best thing to have on hand is a bottle of ceramic cooktop cleaner (Weimans is easy to find) and a pack of brand new razor blades. Use about a quarter amount of the cleanser and a lot of water to scrub in little circles all over the top. Let it sit with that stuff on top for several minutes. Using a brand new razor blade at a shallow angle, scrape off any stubborn spots. Rather than rinse wipe off the excess water and debris, then buff dry. There's polymers in the ceramic cooktop cleaners that help the next food spill to release better, so you want to buff the cleanser off instead of rinsing it.
  • The best way is to check with the manufacturer and get their suggestions as they'll know best.
