Do you want it for a fake tree or a live tree? the walls of the tins aren't that sturdy so using it for a heavy live tree might be difficult unless you fill it with cement around a wide section of PVC where the live tree could slip inside but then you have a watering issue. Even with a fake tree you have to be concerned with weighting it down so it doesn't topple. I like the example shared by Beth above.
