Hi, Mike!
I came upon a couple of options: one is a video and the other is an article. I hope this helps!
If you are trying to remove an old stain, create a dense paste of more baking soda and less water. Then place the paste over the stain, allowing it to function for a few minutes. After that wipe off the baking soda paste. If it is needed you can repeat the procedure until the stain vanishes.

Have you tried a degreaser? Dollar Tree carries Awesome Degreaser that I use and even our local car detailer uses it for all surfaces.
Glazed ceramic doesn’t absorb grease. Un-glazed shouldn’t either, unless it saltillo.
If it is inside the “body” of any surface, as in absorbed at the micro level, it will be very hard to get it out of the pores.
Heat and soap are going to be the essential formula.
If it is ceramic and it’s really in there, you might not be able to get it out. You could try Simple Green.
Hello Mike,
May not be successful, but you could try drawing it out be soaking it and then sprinkling powder over it - It may work, but might need to be repeated a few times!
Best of luck!
