How can I paint a textured ceiling fan?
How would I go about painting a textured ceiling fan? I see smooth ones and they say brush lightly. I can't brush this texture, but would like to paint it bright like a sunflower so my disabled child would see the bright colors when she's in her bed. Thanks!

I think you could use spray paint to coat it evenly but you would want to be careful for the fumes- maybe wait till a nice nice when you could open up all the windows and get ventilation.
Cool idea !!! You can do it two different ways ... If you don't want to take down the fan blades , then do it with a paint roller , they make special sleeve s for painting on textured surfaces . If you don't mind taking down the blades , then spray paint them , that would be the easiest way ! When my son was young I put up glow in the dark stars all over the ceiling in his room ....
How wonderful. I would use RustOleum spray paint in the metal, check for the formula for metal. Scuff with fine steel wool then wipe with denatured alcohol to clean. Then you ready to prime and paint.
Never seen a textured fan, bet thats a dust catcher. I would scrape that texture off, and then repaint.
Spray paint would be the best. If you could remove the fan it would make it much easier. Some ideas how other Hometalkers did it.

Replace the blades?
I would spray on the base color and then use a brush for shading. Sun flower petals need dimension. If you can remove the blades they will be easier to paint and you wont have to worry about getting paint where you don't want it. Also it will be easier to add shading to the petals.
You could use a paint sprayer and a stencil to get that look. I did that once on floors and it worked well! You can see it here: https://thehoneycombhome.com/how-to-paint-linoleum-flooring/
