Hi Kathy. I'm Cindy. You should use denatured alcohol to clean your dresser. Using regular old alcohol will damage the wood. You can buy denatured alcohol at Wal Mart. One quart sells for $6.47.
Hi Kathy, here is a video I hope will help your clean your dresser.

How to Use Rubbing Alcohol on Vintage Wood to Help Lift ...www.youtube.com › watch
Use alcohol like any other cleaner. You will need one or more soft cloth because your furniture is probably dustier than you realize. Use a new spot of cloth every time you pour more alcohol on it. Get into every curve and corner, using a toothpick or bobby pin to get into small spaces. You may need to really some areas that have been polished or varnished heavily. Alcohol is not strong enough to remove paint or stain, but it will give you a good surface to work on. Be sure the room is ventilated because even rubbing alcohol can be overwhelming.

Rubbing alcohol on a microfiber cloth can be used to clean but it will dry out the wood so I wouldn't use on a regular basis.

Not sure why you would want to. If you are just cleaning to dust, use a moist towel and dry. If you are trying to clean to repaint you don't need alcohol, just a mild detergent the cuts grease if it has marks around the drawer pulls from hands. Use Murphy's oil that is mild enough to clean wood.
