How to lengthen interior wood doors
Add length to solid wood interior doors that the builder put on? There is agonist a 2" gap under them.

Here's one way you can do it. Hopefully this can work for you. If your doors are stained you will have to find stain that matches as well as the same sheen of poly if that is what you have as a final finish on your doors. If you doors are painted it would be easier to hide the extra wood length.

Add a rubber sheet on the bottom. The stuff used in gardens and landscaping. You can buy it by the roll. Or just tack up a piece of rubber weather stripping at the bottom of the door that would work like a door sweep.
Forgot to ask is this a solid or hollow core door?
Hi Debbie, you can do this easily by adding sweeps to the bottom of the doors, I have attached a link with several style of sweep, they are easy to install and can be painted,

The doors are solid wood, painted a dark gray ( iron ore is the name), and it's in a newly built house. The builder refused to put longer doors in and I think if he just had put the door cashing in lower there wouldn't have been a problem. I tend to like the first answer the best- with the wood strip screwed into the bottom and then painted as I want the doors to look more elegant rather than look like exterior doors. Thank you all for your answers!
Did your builder install the doors at that height because your new home is so tightly insulated, or was it a cost issue/supply issue (do you think he was simply in a hurry to finish your home and move onto the next job?) ? If it was a cost issue and you're willing to incur the change fee for a larger door, I'd pushh the issue.
