I would like to know a perfect greige color?

Have been trying to find a perfect grey/brown color and keep ending up with green, purple, blue undertones that drive me nuts, and is adding up in cost. Can anyone tell me if they have personally used a paint that does NOT have any weird extra color. Should look grey when put close to brown and brown when put close to grey. That's all I want to see in my paint, Thanks

Hi Sandy, hopefully this blogger will help : http://www.elizabethburnsdesign.com/blog/2014/5/1/the-perfect-warm-gray-paint-colors personally of her choices I think silver drop is the closest to what I think of. Remember you can order free paint chips online from just about all of the major paint manufactures. My preference in color choices has always been Sherwin Williams.

I bought paint at Lowes called Greige. Don't know the Brand but can look it up if you need it...Painted the bathroom with it and standing in the hallway looking in, the bath looks grey. When you are inside the bath it looks beige. Love it. I found pink towels look good and light teal looks good.

Your problem with extra colors may have more to do with the lighting in that room, whether from the sun, or from indoor lighting. LED bulbs can create a change in colors of upholstery, fixtures.

The easiest solution is to purchase a sample of the paint colors you wish to try. Paint a 3' x 3' area on the wall(s) where you are experiencing problems, and note the color rendition from morning through night. Failure to do this step often results in disappointment and do-overs.

If you're more experienced, you can collect multiple paint samples of each color you'd like to try from the store, tape several of the same color together, in multiple locations around the room, and see which ones are viable options.

If you look carefully in the paint department, you'll probably find that their lighting is nothing like that in your home.

Sherwin Williams has a "perfect greige", you can always consult the clerk at the store for the color composition of anything you like. I would suggest getting a sample as well.
