Is there a way to help my plastic flower pots last longer? ?

Is there a way to keep plastic pots from getting brittle in the sun? I'm sure it's bound to happen with as much heat and sun we get. I was wondering if there was at least a way to make them last longer.

The thicker the plastic the better chance it has of not cracking in the sun or when it falls over. Usually higher priced pots are thicker, not only in the base, but in the walls as well.
Hello. I understand your situation I have many that have chipped and faded as well. Some clear sprays have UV protection that might be something to consider. I believe restoleum never rust is an example. How much you could help I’m not sure. It seems like the thinner plastic pots definitely have a lifespan.
Also I would suggest in the future to consider the foam planters I’ve had some of those more than 15 years and they’re still pretty much intact they may need some acrylic touch up paint sponge down they don’t degrade like the plastic ones.
I've had mine 5 years, they stay out year round. None of them are brittle. It's 90 - 100 for 3 months of the year here.
You could try painting them with Krylon paint. I'm sure that would help to extend their life. If you don't want to change the color then use the clear.
